Louisiana Hospitality Foundation Unites Beer and Clydesdales for a Cause
Fundraiser Will Support N.O.P.D. Mounted Division
NEW ORLEANS – (January 26, 2012) – The New Orleans Police Department’s Mounted Division announces the Horses, Hops & Cops fundraiser on Wednesday, February 15 from 3 to 8 p.m. and is open to individuals and families of all ages.
Southern Eagle Sales & Service, a local Budweiser distributor, has partnered with the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation to host this fundraiser, the proceeds of which will benefit the N.O.P.D. Mounted Division. The event will take place at the N.O.P.D. Mounted Division located at Harrison Avenue and Marconi Drive in City Park.
The Budweiser Clydesdales will be at the event for photos and interactive activities. Attendees can participate in a raffle to win a ride on the Budweiser wagon pulled by eight Clydesdales during a Mardi Gras Day parade.
Culinary treats and beverages will also be available for purchase at $5.00 per serving. Participating restaurants include Galatoire’s, Remoulade, Zea’s Rotisserie & Grill, Ernst Café, Café Hope, Café Reconcile, and Drago’s Seafood Restaurant. Craft vendors from Beacon of Hope and the Lakeview Market Place will be selling goods, and live music will be provided by D.J. Captain Charles and Imaginary Frenz.
The N.O.P.D. Mounted Division has been a crucial aid in deterring and stopping criminal activity in our city. With support from the community, essential funds will be raised for training, technical equipment and crime-fighting supplies for police officers of the Mounted Division. Funds raised will also go towards the purchase of additional horses for more daily coverage throughout the City of New Orleans.
“We are proud to present the Clydesdales and have them available for such a worthy cause,” said event chairman and Louisiana Hospitality Foundation member Paul Guillie. “The N.O.P.D. Mounted Division serves as a critical part in keeping thousands safe during carnival season and the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation is committed to helping them serve our community.”
